Aufgabe:

We are seeking a candidate with an outstanding international academic record in modern subfields of stochastics, whose research focuses on one of the following areas: * High-dimensional statistics * Statistical learning theory * Stochastic optimisation * Stochastic processes The postholder will represent the subject in research and teaching. The position involves teaching courses in the faculty's Bachelor's programmes - some of which are delivered in English - as well as in its English-taught Master's programmes. In particular, a strong commitment to teaching is expected in the B.Sc. Artificial Intelligence and M.Sc. Artificial Intelligence Engineering programmes, which are jointly offered by the Mathematics and Computer Science departments. An aptitude for university-level teaching and the ability to lead courses independently are key selection criteria. Regarding research, high-quality publications, integration into an international research environment and experience in securing national or international external funding are expected. Links to other research topics within the faculty and a willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration within the faculty and with industrial partners are desirable.
